Adele is all over the news today, but it’s not because of the big awards she took home at the Brit Awards last night. It’s because she flipped the middle finger.
She was up accepting the biggest award of the night for British Album of the Year when the host, James Corden, interrupted her speech to introduce the band Blur, who were closing the show.
As he came up saying, “I’m so sorry”, she says:
“You’re gonna cut me off. Can I just say then, good bye and I’ll see you next time round.” (Que middle finger)
Adele is defending herself today by apologizing and saying:
“I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits (organizers) at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I’m sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me. I was about to thank the British public for all their support but they cut me off. So thank you very much for all your support. It’s amazing, so thank you very much.”
A spokesperson for ITV say:
“The Brits is a live event. Unfortunately the program was over running and we had to move on. We would like to apologize to Adele for the interruption.”
